Masataka Taketsuru is the first Japanese who mastered whisky-making in Scotland and produced the genuine whisky in Japan. Masatakas vision of whisky was formed by his experience of whisky in Scotland, and he learned that the rich natural resources surrounding a distillery were essential for whisky-making.
Based on this, he selected two places, Yoichi and Miyagikyo, and built two distilleries there. This whisky, stored and matured for 21 years or more in oak casks, is characterised by a deep, mature nose and an excellent balance palate and a powerful, long-lasting finish Nose: Old, dusty workbench, oily-musty gloves, cinnamon, baked apple, toffee, apricot pie, sugar sprinkles.
