Ch*teau Siran 2017 is a distinguished red wine from the Margaux appellation in Bordeaux, France. This vintage reflects the estate's commitment to traditional winemaking and its exceptional terroir. The 2017 vintage is a blend of 46% Merlot, 45% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 9% Petit Verdot. Harvested between September 18 and October 5, the wine underwent meticulous vinification, including intra-plot selection, controlled fermentation temperatures, and extended maceration.
Malolactic fermentation occurred partly in barrels, followed by aging in French oak barrels, 35% of which were new, for 12 to 14 months. Tasting Notes: Appearance: Medium to deep garnet-purple hue. Nose: Aromatic bouquet of black cherry, plum, crushed blackcurrant, and hints of black olives, lavender, and fragrant earth.
Palate: Medium to full-bodied with a muscular core, offering flavors of wild cherry, plum, dried flowers, mint, tobacco, and smoke. The wine is balanced and generous, with acidity complementing the tannins, leading to a clean, polished finish. Food Pairing: This wine pairs beautifully with roasted or stewed meats (beef, duck, pork, game) and medium to mature cheeses.
