Reserve Red 2019

Vuurberg Reserve Red 2019 is a bold and expressive South African red blend, meticulously crafted by winemaker Donovan Rall. Sourced from select vineyards in Stellenbosch and the Swartland, this vintage showcases a harmonious blend of 48% Petit Verdot, 28% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 24% Cinsault. The winemaking process emphasizes traditional techniques: 50% of the Cinsault undergoes whole-bunch fermentation, while the remaining grapes are destemmed and double-sorted.

Fermentation occurs naturally without added yeasts, followed by gentle basket pressing. The wine matures for 18 months in 225L second and third-fill French oak barrels and is bottled unfined and unfiltered, preserving its authentic character. Tasting Notes: Nose: Enticing aromas of wild berries, blackberry compote, graphite, and tobacco.

Palate: Layers of dark black fruits, brown spice, and subtle oak, complemented by the freshness of Petit Verdot and the richness of Cabernet and Cinsault.
